A Legacy of Warmth and Craftsmanship
Located at the base of Okemo Mountain in Ludlow, Vermont, GMFS is a one-stop destination for superior fireplace design, fireside products, and hearth accessories. Whether it’s gas or wood-burning fireplaces, custom glass doors, or natural stone veneer, GMFS offers expert solutions tailored to each customer’s needs. Their showroom is a testament to their dedication to quality, showcasing a range of fireplaces, stoves, and accessories that bring warmth and elegance to homes across the region.
Rising from the Floodwaters
The summer of 2024 brought unprecedented challenges to Ludlow, as devastating floods swept through the region, leaving businesses and homes in turmoil. GMFS, situated in the Okemo Marketplace Plaza, was among those affected. The floodwaters and mudslides caused significant damage to their showroom, forcing them to temporarily relocate.
Despite the hardship, GMFS embodied the true spirit of Vermont resilience. Owners Peggy and Arnie Campney, along with their dedicated team, worked tirelessly to restore their business. With the support of the local community, disaster relief funds raised by the OVRCC, and sheer determination, GMFS reopened its doors on Black Friday, November 24, 2024, marking a triumphant return to their original location. Their journey from devastation to recovery is a testament to their commitment to serving Ludlow and beyond.
A Community-Centered Business
GMFS is more than just a fireplace store—it’s a cornerstone of the Ludlow community. Their commitment to craftsmanship, customer service, and local engagement has made them a beloved business in the region. Whether it is helping homeowners create cozy spaces or supporting community initiatives, GMFS continues to be a beacon of warmth and reliability.
As we celebrate Green Mountain Fireplace Specialties as our May Member of the Month, we recognize not only their excellence in fireplace design but also their incredible perseverance. Their story is one of passion, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to their craft and community.
