For over 40 years, this annual event is has been held as a hallmark kick off to the beginning of fall foliage season here in our Vermont town, where hundreds of people converge on our historic Green from all over New England. This year we’re celebrating with a special agricultural-themed event while again bringing together the best of our local craft and food vendors. This is a free outdoor event where you will find the center of town lined with vendors making delicious food and offering pottery, fine woodworking, fiber art, jewelry, photography, glass, and much more with something of interest for everyone. In addition to many new vendors and returning favorites, we’re introducing agricultural exhibits, artisan demonstrations, farm animals, field games, and entertainment in an unforgettable experience of Vermont’s unique culture. The Farm Olympics will host Potato Sack Racing, Pumpkin Bowling, Corncob Darts, Egg Tossing, Giant Pumpkin Rolling, and more! Participation in the Farm Olympics automatically enters you into our raffle prize contest. Other activities (all kid-friendly) include the Hay Bale Maze, Apple Cider Pressing, Scarecrow Building, Garlic Painting, Worm Farm Exhibit, Beekeeping Exhibit, and traditional Tractor Hay Rides on a loop cruise around the festival grounds. Of course, if you’re a pup lover, you won’t want to miss out on the Sheep Dog and Frisbee Dog Demos! We hope you’ll pick and plan your favorite activities for a customized experience at the Chester Festival on the Green. All Agriculture Entertainment will be organized into time slots (TBD) throughout the two-day event, which will be posted on our website once we get closer to the date. Schedule sheets will also be handed out by our ambassadors and provided at the Chester Info Booth during the event. And, don’t forget to make your way over to the live music concert series—multiple bands are playing on stage throughout both days! The music schedule and lineup are coming soon…Stay tuned to our website for more details.
