

Billings Backyard: Introduction to Vineyards & Verjus
Curious about starting your own vineyard? Looking for creative ways to use your grapes? Join Viticulturist Sharen Conner, along with Food Writer Martha Esersky Lorden at Billings Farm on Saturday, November 4, from 10 – 11:30 AM for Billings Backyard: Vineyards & Verjus. They will discuss how to select, plant, and care for the vines and delve into the wonderful world of Verjus. This delicious, unfermented liquid, made from the juice of unripe grapes, is the perfect ingredient in sauces, salad dressings, and more. The introductory class will cover the history and uses of Verjus, discuss how to make it, and will include demonstrations and tastings of a few recipes made with the product.
