The Weston Historical Society curates three fascinating museums:
- the Farrar-Mansur House (1795 dwelling and tavern)
- the Old Mill (where an operating water-powered grist mill and the amazing Lane shingle maker are demonstrated)
- the Craft Building (Weston’s first firehouse and now home to the 1880 bandwagon of the Weston Cornet Band)
- Vermont Scale Museum (Antique Vermont scales provide insight into the 19th Century Industrial Revolution)
Museums are open from late June to mid-October and some Holidays.
The Society also conducts walking tours of Weston’s Historic District, sponsors lectures on historic subjects and hosts
a Colonial Craft Day each September. See their web site (and local newspapers) for information on specific events.
