Be sure to experience the Vermont’s vibrant arts landscape as well. From art museums, crafts and music festivals to theatres, puppetry and even circuses, Vermont has plenty to excite your cultural palette. At the heart of southern Vermont’s arts scene is the venerable Weston Playhouse Theatre Company. Having celebrated it’s 75th anniversary, Vermont’s oldest professional theatre is a living testament to a community’s belief in the arts. In 1935, while the Great Depression was raging, Weston-born architect Raymond Austin was putting the finishing touches on a playhouse that one Boston critic would dub “the most beautiful theatre in New England”.
