Cavendish

Located along Rt. 131 and comprised of two villages, Proctorsville on the western end of Rt. 131 and Cavendish farther to the east, several glimmer stone houses and numerous small businesses mark the two villages.   Cavendish HistoricalSociety.jpg

Cavendish offers spring trophy trout fishing and kayaking in the Black River which once supplied power to early industry.

Proctorsville offers delightful outdoor summer concerts on the green and there is great bicycling along the back roads and Rte. 131 as it winds along the river.  Beautiful fall vistas of Vermont farm fields in addition to winter VAST snowmobile trails as well as snowshoe and hiking in State Forests make for great year-round recreation.
