It is never too early to mark this tradition on your calendar! This event is fun for the entire family. Kicking off the weekend on Friday night (2/12) is a Chester Andover Elementary School Dinner and a Movie while parents celebrate Valentines Day by dining at their favorite Chester Restaurant with 20% of the proceeds of the dinner will go to the PTG. Saturday (2/13) brings in a host of activities including a breakfast at the American Legion, Sled Races, Disc Golf, Cross Country Skiing and a new addition of Sleigh Rides by Smokshire Hilltop Farm. The evening will end with a skating party and bonfire held at Cobleigh Field. On Sunday (2/14) Broom Hockey will conclude the weekend festivities. Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Display February

David Soltz is a traveler, adventurer, musician, dog lover and realistic optimist (in no particular order), who loves making music with others and as a solo performer, as well as striking up spontaneous conversations with perfect strangers. He’s a guitarist/singer-songwriter who also plays instrumental guitar music and performs regularly on Martha’s Vineyard and around New England. He plays what he calls “hardwood floor Americana music”… a blend of country-blues, ragtime, folk, and finger-style guitar. He also plays Tabla (beautiful, resonant hand-drums from North India), and began accompanying Kirtan artists in 2003. He enjoys singing out loud in the sunshine and doing everything under it with his incredible chocolate lab, Babu!

Winter Wild is an uphill series with a twist, the finish is at the bottom so you get to come back down too. Grab your skis or snowboard, grab your snowshoes, or just grab your favorite winter running shoes and join us for some winter fun. Do you like first tracks? This events take place on Okemo and you get to hit slopes before they open to the public. What's not to like about that! The activity is called “uphilling,” and it’s adding a whole new dimension of fun and purpose to winter recreation. Uphilling is a hearty winter workout, where participants ascend a ski slope using either snowshoes, skis with climbing “skins,” or running shoes with "microspikes". You might say it’s an activity that’s people-powered rather than machined-powered.

The 8th annual Maple Fest Dinner will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 6 p.m. in Willard Hall at St. Luke’s Church. Everything on the menu has a “hint” of maple syrup as an ingredient. The guests will feast on roast turkey breast, cranberry sauce, peas, baked beans, crucifer salad, potatoes, and scones. A selection of either red or white wine will be available for those who wish to enjoy some with their dinner. A variety of desserts will be offered, all being touched by maple. This two day class will cover the art and fun of sewing by learning how to make a pillow. The first day will cover all the basics you will need to know about whatever sewing machine you use. You will learn the components, the various terminology, and how to thread and use the machine. In addition you will learn, hands on, how to sew a straight seam, turn a corner, backstitch; everything you need to know to do basic sewing on your own. On the second day we will measure, cut, sew and complete the pillow. Pillow inserts and a variety of fabrics will be available from which to choose, or bring a fabric of your own. Organic Beekeeping Workshop

Celebrated Vermont beekeeper Ross Conrad will host an Organic Beekeeping Workshop on Saturday, March 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the NewsBank Conference Center, 352 Main Street, Chester, Vermont. The event is presented by The Nature Museum at Grafton. This workshop includes three topics often requested by local beekeepers: Working with Honey Bee Queens, Working with Swarms and Organic Controls for Pests and Disease (Other than Varroa). In this workshop, Ross will present a balanced view of natural and organic beekeeping not often covered by conventional beekeeping lessons. He will allot time to discuss beekeeping, answer questions, and meet other beekeepers. There will be raffles, a flow hive display, honey tasting and light refreshments. In this workshop students will learn the basics of punch needle rug hooking. Students will make a 14” chair seat pad or wall hanging, and by doing so will learn all the skills necessary for making larger rugs. Choose from a multitude of patterns offered by the instructor or draw your own. The Oxford Punch needle will be used along with a palette of beautiful 100% hand-dyed wool yarns that will be available from which to choose your colors. Living Willow Structure for the Garden with Bonnie Gale
